Question: google-analytics virus?
So about a fifth of the time I click a link a new tab opens that says “google-analytics” that redirects to a spam web site. A lot of the websites about this say that this is happening you’ll most likely have some new processes running that do this but I don’t have any. A restored my computer but my oldest restore did not get rid of the problem. How do I remove this virus?

I had a Google redirect virus that did something similar to this, and was undetectable by antivirus. Try running a virus scan. If you have, and/or or it doesn’t work, do what I did. Instead of going to “http://www.google.com”, go to “http://encrypted.google.com”.

Install, update, scan and clean with anti-malware programs like Malwarebytes AntiMalware (http://www.malwarebytes.org) & SuperAntiSpyware from http://www.superantispyware.com/.

Sounds like it might be the TDSS rootkit infection which cannot be detected with ordinary anti-virus/spyware/malware softwares.

Note: Some variants of this infection will block access to the above sites.

    Good luck.
